Speed of Sound

**Strutt|Fundamentals|Speed of Sound** calculates the wave velocity of sound in air as a function of temperature using the following ideal-gas equation:

`c_(ideal) = sqrt((gamma R T )/ M)`

where:

`gamma` = 1.4 is the adiabatic index

`R` = 8.3145 is the ideal gas constant

`M` = 0.029 is the molar mass of dry air

`T` is the air temperature (in Kelvin)
